Description
About the paint:
Our color stains are created from Milk Paint. Milk Paint is the oldest natural paint known to man and can still be found in some cave paintings. This paint contains only natural, biodegradable ingredients; limestone, clay, chalk, milk protein (casein), and natural non-toxic pigments made from iron oxides and those synthesized from natural resources.
About the process:
Each piece of muslin is painted and stained by hand; therefore, each lot of color will have slight variations so no two are exactly alike. The ribbon is then torn and frayed by hand. Each spool is exclusively handcrafted by a local Amishman for Milk House 24 by recycling scraps of hickory and oak. The wood is hand spun and transformed into spools which are then stained with milk paint. Finally, the ribbon is hand wound around each spool. Each spool holds 3 yards of muslin.
